Wyatt Shore

Hi! I'm Wyatt

I'm a mechanical engineering student at the University of Victoria with a passion for solving complex problems and building things that move.

I like to focus on the intersection of design, robotics, manufacturing, and software development, with an emphasis on optimizing how real-world systems function. When I'm not obsessing over a project or buried in SolidWorks, you'll probably find me staying active, enjoying the outdoors, or playing guitar.

I truly love the excitement of learning and applying science and technology to the world around me — you can read about my projects here on this site.

What I'm About

Mechanical Design

SolidWorks is basically a second language at this point. I enjoy translating ideas from sketch to functional assembly, thinking through tolerances, material choices, and how something will actually be made.

Electronics & Embedded

My projects tend to blur the line between mechanical and electrical. I've worked with ESP32s, Raspberry Pis, custom PCBs, sensors, and motor drivers — basically anything that makes a mechanical system smarter.

Fabrication

I've spent a lot of time with 3D printers (mostly FDM — PETG is my go-to for anything that needs to survive the real world), and I enjoy the process of turning a CAD model into something you can hold.

Software

I'm primarily a mechanical guy, but software is unavoidable and honestly pretty fun. Python, C/C++, MATLAB, and even Flutter have all made appearances in my projects.
